Gonzaga University First-Year Merit Scholarships
Offered by Gonzaga University
About this scholarship
Gonzaga University First-Year Merit Scholarships are automatic need-blind undergraduate scholarships awarded through the admission review. Gonzaga states that all students who complete the application for admission are automatically considered for one of several first-year merit scholarships, with no separate scholarship forms required. Published first-year merit scholarship values range from $19,500 to $30,000 per year and are guaranteed for four years for entering freshmen and first-year transfers with fewer than 30 semester credits. The award is partial funding because it reduces tuition but does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, residence, meals, books, insurance, travel, and personal expenses. Selection criteria include curriculum difficulty, GPA, extracurricular activities, recommendations, writing quality in the application, optional SAT or ACT test scores, and optional admission interview. Gonzaga is test optional for merit consideration. Students offered a merit scholarship must be admitted, enroll in at least 12 credits each term, and maintain good academic standing to keep continuous scholarship support under the Gonzaga Guarantee.
