The Global Cardinal Scholarship for First-time Freshmen is a University of Louisville scholarship for international students who hold F-1 visa status. UofL lists annual award levels of $5,000 for a cumulative high school GPA of 3.25 to 3.4, $6,500 for a GPA of 3.5 to 3.74, and $8,000 for a GPA of 3.75 or higher. The GPA is converted to a four-point scale. The scholarship is partial funding because it reduces tuition costs but does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. UofL states that the scholarship is applied automatically upon admission, so no separate scholarship application is required. Eligibility

• Apply as a first-time freshman international student to the University of Louisville
• Hold or plan to hold F-1 visa status
• Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.25 after conversion to a four-point scale
• No separate Global Cardinal Scholarship application is required
• Scholarship tier is based on the converted cumulative high school GPA
• Be admitted to the University of Louisville for the award to apply
• Meet UofL international admission and English proficiency requirements
