GFWC Massachusetts Public Health Scholarship for Undergraduate Study
Offered by General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Massachusetts
About this scholarship
The GFWC Massachusetts Public Health Scholarship for Undergraduate Study supports a Massachusetts resident pursuing undergraduate education connected to public health. The official 2027 scholarship page lists the award as starting at $500 and sets a strict March 1, 2027 deadline. This is the current successor to the directory listing that used the older Catherine E. Philbin name; applicants should use the sponsor’s current title and current 2027 form. The application asks for the student’s contact information, Massachusetts address, high-school history, colleges attended or applied to, acceptance status, expected graduation date, and major. The supporting packet includes a personal statement of no more than 500 words explaining professional goals and their relationship to a public-health program, with the word count stated on the essay. Applicants also provide an original reference on school letterhead from a high-school teacher, academic adviser, or college professor, a copy of a Massachusetts driver’s license or high-school identification, and an official transcript showing grades. Materials are sent to the GFWC Massachusetts Scholarship Chairman at the address printed on the form, marked for the Undergraduate Public Health Scholarship. The sponsor warns that failure to follow every requirement results in disqualification, so candidates should use the PDF as a checklist and leave enough mailing time for the March 1 deadline.
