Fund for Education Abroad Winter/Spring 2027 Scholarships
Offered by Fund for Education Abroad
About this scholarship
The Fund for Education Abroad Winter/Spring 2027 competition provides need-based study-abroad scholarships to U.S. undergraduates who have not previously studied abroad after high school. Awards range from at least $1,000 for qualifying short-term programs to as much as $10,000 depending on program length and the general or matched scholarship available; the FEA application portal states that a typical fall or spring semester award is up to $5,000. Applicants may study in any country and any academic field, but the overseas experience must last at least 14 days and earn credit at the student’s U.S. home institution. Students must be at least 18, be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient, and remain enrolled as an undergraduate at a U.S. college or university when applying. Financial need is required. FEA treats an applicant as financially eligible when the most recent FAFSA shows a Student Aid Index below 20,000, Pell Grant eligibility, or any student borrowing for the current academic year. The online application collects information about the student, proposed program, academic record, and an unofficial transcript, together with written responses. A single application can also match students to qualifying named and Access Partner scholarships. The current portal is open and will not accept late submissions after noon Eastern on September 16, 2026.
