Fredonia President's Award of Excellence
Offered by SUNY Fredonia
About this scholarship
The Fredonia President's Award of Excellence is a renewable first-year merit scholarship for full-time entering students. Fredonia lists the award at $5,000 per year for spring and fall 2026 first-year applicants with a cumulative weighted high school average of 95 or higher at the time of acceptance. The Office of Admissions awards it at time of acceptance, and first-time first-year applicants are considered after completing the admission application process through either the SUNY Application or Common Application. The scholarship is partial funding because it is designed to support non-tuition related expenses such as fees, room and board, books, personal costs, travel, and special experiences, but it does not guarantee full cost of attendance. Recipients must plan to enroll full time and live on campus, submit the admission deposit by May 1 for fall or December 1 for spring, maintain full-time status, achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA for renewal, reside in a university residence hall or townhouse, and complete FAFSA annually where applicable. International applicants are reviewed for merit-based awards at acceptance.
