Foundation for Faces of Children Scholarship Award Program

Offered by Foundation for Faces of Children

About this scholarship

The Foundation for Faces of Children Scholarship Award Program supports New England residents who were born with a craniofacial difference and are pursuing college or vocational and technical education. High school graduates and students already attending college may apply. Selection considers academic achievement, character, determination to complete the proposed program, extracurricular involvement, and community service. The Foundation presents awards under four names: the Jane C. McDaid Memorial Scholarship emphasizes community service; the Dorothy MacDonald Scholarship supports a student entering a health profession; the Barbara Seltzer Memorial Scholarship is reserved for a person with cleft lip or palate and emphasizes involvement or career plans in the arts; and the Dr. John B. Mulliken Scholarship recognizes academic excellence and leadership. Amounts and the number selected can change. In 2026, five recipients shared $25,000, so a fixed $5,000 future award is not guaranteed. The current sponsor page says applications will become available again January 1, 2027, while the official reusable form specifies a March 1 annual deadline. Applicants may apply in multiple years but can receive an FFC scholarship only once. Current or recent Foundation board members and their families are excluded under the application rules.
