Folsom Garden Club College Scholarship

Offered by Folsom Garden Club

About this scholarship

The Folsom Garden Club College Scholarship supports California undergraduates studying horticulture, floriculture, plant science, conservation, environmental science, landscape design or architecture, forestry, botany, agronomy, or another qualifying plant- and environment-related field. Full-time students taking 12–15 units can receive $1,000 to $5,000, while part-time students taking 6–11 units can receive $500 to $3,000. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year at an accredited college or university. They must either have a permanent home address in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, or Yolo County, or temporarily live in one of those counties while attending a local college or university. The application package includes the official form, an applicant letter, activities and honors, recommendations, and an official transcript. The complete packet and separately supplied recommendations and transcript must be emailed or mailed to the scholarship chair by April 15. The Club’s annual application was revised in December 2025 and uses a recurring April 15 deadline; the next annual closing date is therefore April 15, 2027. Scholarship checks go to the registrar and are released after successful completion of 30 days of fall enrollment for tuition, books, or other school-related expenses.
