Farm House Excellence in Horsemanship Scholarship

Offered by The Farm House Tack

About this scholarship

The Farm House Excellence in Horsemanship Scholarship awards $2,000 to one high-school senior or current college student whose riding reflects responsibility, partnership, sportsmanship, and integrity. Applicants must plan to attend or already attend an accredited U.S. college or university and must participate actively in equestrian sport; English disciplines are preferred but not required. Competition titles and ribbons are unnecessary. Students email a written introduction covering age, riding discipline, academic and equestrian goals, college plans, competitive aspirations, and long-term involvement in the sport. They also provide a 30–90 second riding video recorded within the previous 12 months, showing flatwork, jumping, or another discipline-specific ride. A third component is either a video reflection or a 300–500 word written response explaining what horsemanship means, how the equestrian community shaped the applicant’s character, and how the scholarship would affect the future. Proof of enrollment or acceptance is required. The sponsor reviews horsemanship and riding ability, character, goals, commitment, authenticity, and overall presentation. AI may help organize ideas, but the reflection must remain the student’s own thinking and voice, and AI-generated riding footage is prohibited. Complete emailed applications are due November 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
