Eve Devitt Scholarship for Human Rights

Offered by The Eve Devitt Fund

About this scholarship

The Eve Devitt Fund awards up to three $2,500 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors whose work has advanced human rights in Idaho. The Class of 2027 application is available from the official scholarship page and closes May 15, 2027. This is a merit-based award, with stated priority for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC applicants who also demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is unusually flexible: recipients may use the cash for expenses connected with college, trade school, or a gap year, whether they pursue that next step in Idaho or in another state. Applicants should focus their application on specific, sustained actions that protected rights, improved inclusion, or strengthened the safety and dignity of people in Idaho rather than relying only on general interest in advocacy. Because the sponsor describes human-rights work—not a particular major—as the qualifying achievement, students may pursue any academic or vocational field. The program honors Eve Devitt and is administered by the Idaho-based nonprofit Eve Devitt Fund. Students start from the Fund’s official scholarship page, where the current-cycle application is linked directly. The directory date of May 1 is not used because the sponsor currently publishes May 15 for the Class of 2027.
