Eula Mae Jett Scholarship — Career Change Category
Offered by Legal Professionals, Incorporated
About this scholarship
Legal Professionals, Incorporated created this Eula Mae Jett category for California adults changing careers into legal-support or court-administration work. It is designed for a person re-entering employment after a prolonged absence or for an experienced worker or workforce veteran transitioning to a new occupation. Qualifying study can prepare the applicant for work as a legal secretary, paralegal or legal assistant, court reporter, court clerk, law-office administrator, or a related legal professional; law-school study is excluded. The applicant must enroll in fall 2027 in an eligible school or approved online program lasting at least six months. The category provides one $2,000 first-place award and one $1,000 second-place award. Unlike the student categories, a career-change applicant includes a current resume with the official application, biographical letter, nonrelative recommendation, and checklist. The normal route is through a local LPI association by its earlier deadline. An applicant without a local association may submit directly to LPI, but all association-forwarded materials are due by April 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m.
