Erskine College Music Scholarships

Offered by Erskine College

About this scholarship

Erskine College offers music scholarships to students who want to remain active in music while earning an undergraduate degree in Due West, South Carolina. A music major or minor is not required. Students who earned a place in a top All-State ensemble are eligible for a $5,000 annual music scholarship, and an on-campus audition may increase that amount. Other students may also compete for funding by scheduling an audition with Erskine’s music faculty; their award amounts are not fixed on the official page. Scholarship recipients continue private lessons and perform in faculty-led ensembles while pursuing any available major. The audition repertoire depends on the performer: singers prepare two contrasting works, including one in a language other than English; pianists and organists prepare two contrasting selections; and other instrumentalists prepare two contrasting pieces. Applicants who need an Erskine accompanist must send their music at least two weeks before the audition. Erskine’s current scholarship page links to the downloadable application form and to audition dates and requirements. Because no closing date is published, applicants should submit the form and coordinate an audition directly with the music program as early as possible.
