ERC Eco Scholarship
Offered by Environmental Research Center
About this scholarship
The Environmental Research Center’s ERC Eco Scholarship awards $1,000 to graduating high school seniors preparing for environmental studies at an accredited California college or university. Applications are accepted continuously with no stated deadline, and the official scholarship page contains the application form. Eligible students must be U.S. citizens living in California, hold at least a 3.25 high school GPA, and have completed one science course beyond the minimum needed to graduate. The award may help with tuition, living expenses, books, supplies, university fees, or special project costs. Applicants submit an official high school transcript, two to four recommendation letters, and an environmental-health essay of no more than three double-spaced pages in 12-point Times New Roman. At least one recommendation must come from school faculty, while the remaining references must not be relatives. Selection emphasizes civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, and the applicant’s record of supporting environmental and public-health goals. A recipient must provide the scholarship committee with a short report, limited to one page, within six months after distribution so the organization can learn about the student’s activities and accomplishments.
