Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship

The Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship is a University of Calgary undergraduate entrance award established to globalize the student experience for students who graduated from recognized high schools in China, including Hong Kong and Macau. The official award page lists the value as CAD $20,000 and renewable. It is offered annually to one international student entering first year in an undergraduate degree program at UCalgary. Renewal is available in the second, third, and fourth year if the recipient achieves a minimum GPA of 3.00 over at least 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms. The award is partial funding because it does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, insurance, travel, or personal expenses. Selection considers academic merit and financial need, with preference for students entering Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences, or Bachelor of Arts Urban Studies. Students access high school award applications through the My UCalgary portal after submitting an admission application.

Eligibility

• Apply for admission to an undergraduate degree program at the University of Calgary
• Be an international student entering first year
• Graduate from a recognized high school in China, including Hong Kong or Macau
• Submit the High School Awards application through My UCalgary when eligible
• Demonstrate academic merit
• Demonstrate financial need
• Preference applies for Engineering, Commerce, Health Sciences, or Arts Urban Studies
