Ellis R. Ott Scholarship for Applied Statistics and Quality Management
Offered by Ellis R. Ott Scholarship Governing Board
About this scholarship
The Ellis R. Ott Scholarship program awards two $7,500 scholarships each year to graduate students in applied statistics, quality management, or a closely related field. Applicants must be enrolled in or entering a master’s or doctoral program in the United States or Canada; qualifying online graduate programs are explicitly considered. Applications are accepted every year from January 1 through May 1 for the following academic year. Selection weighs demonstrated ability, academic achievement, career objectives, recommendations from faculty, participation in student or professional organizations, teaching or tutoring, and industry exposure through internships or part-time work. The official application package requires a completed form, résumé, one-page personal statement, two recommendation letters from professors or field mentors, and a recent academic transcript. The program honors Rutgers professor and American Society for Quality founder Ellis R. Ott and is designed for students who intend to advance statistics and quality practice. Applicants should download the complete package from the official application-process page, assemble the academic and professional evidence requested, and ensure the full submission reaches the governing board during the January-to-May window.
