EFWA Laurel’s Fund Scholarship
Offered by Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting
About this scholarship
EFWA’s Laurel’s Fund Scholarship provides a one-time award of up to $3,000 to a woman pursuing a PhD in business with a concentration in accounting. The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting established the fund to support women seeking advanced accounting degrees. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have financial need, and attend an AACSB-accredited college or university in the United States. The Foundation has announced that its 2027-28 application process will open January 4, 2027 and close March 30, 2027. Candidates use EFWA’s common online portal and provide the financial-aid documentation, transcript, and reference materials requested there. A FAFSA Submission Summary or email confirmation is the stated evidence of need, and reference letters must be uploaded through the portal rather than mailed separately. Official transcripts are not required. Each person may apply for only one EFWA scholarship during the cycle. Qualified online or remote coursework is accepted when it is offered by an accredited institution. EFWA expects to complete selection by May 31, notify recipients by email, and issue available awards in summer for use in the fall term.
