EFWA Horizons Scholarship

Offered by Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting

About this scholarship

The EFWA Horizons Scholarship provides up to $5,000 per year for as many as two years to a woman who is the primary source of support for her family and is completing an accounting bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA Submission Summary or confirmation, and attend an AACSB-accredited U.S. college or university. A qualifying student should be within approximately 60 credit hours of completing the accounting degree; an accounting double major is acceptable. Renewal for the second year requires proof of continued progress and satisfactory coursework with a GPA of at least 2.0. The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting has announced that applications for 2027-28 will be accepted from January 4 through March 30, 2027. Its common portal accepts transcripts and reference letters electronically, and official transcripts are not required. Only one EFWA scholarship application may be made in a cycle. The primary-support rule does not require the applicant to be widowed, divorced, or have children. Eligible online classes are accepted when offered by an accredited institution, and awards are made in summer for fall study.
