Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships (University of Edinburgh)
Offered by University of Edinburgh
About this scholarship
The Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships help international PhD students with the cost of studying a research degree at the University of Edinburgh, one of the UK's leading research universities. The award covers the difference between the UK (home) tuition-fee rate and the higher international tuition-fee rate for a PhD — that is, the overseas fee premium — rather than providing a living stipend, so it is best combined with other funding for maintenance. The scholarships are open to UK and overseas students starting the first year of an on-campus research degree, and many School studentships actually require international applicants to also apply for an Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship (or otherwise demonstrate they can meet the full overseas fee). To apply, you must first have applied for admission to a full-time or part-time PhD at the University, which gives you access to the online scholarship application in the EUCLID system via the MyEd portal. Deadlines vary by School and are published in the scholarship listings, so applicants are advised to apply well in advance. Selection is based on academic merit and research potential.
