Earlham College Quaker Fellows Scholarship

About this scholarship

Earlham College’s Quaker Fellows Scholarship combines a $2,500 annual award with an enhanced financial aid package and a four-year formation program centered on spirituality, community, and leadership. A small cohort of new students joins upper-level fellows for weekly gatherings, individual meetings, themed programming, spiritual reflection, and practical engagement with Quaker processes and values. Participation requires about 50 hours each semester: approximately 30 programmed hours and 20 hours of individually chosen activities. Applicants must enter Earlham with the fall class, so they first apply to the college by an applicable Early Action or Early Decision deadline, gain admission, and enroll. Students do not have to be Quaker; the college instead looks for genuine interest in religious or spiritual thought, commitment to personal spiritual growth, and willingness to learn in a community representing diverse spiritual paths. Finalists are interviewed during Scholarship Day, with virtual participation available to international students. The scholarship can continue for four full-time years when a fellow completes the individual activity hours, regularly attends program events, engages with Quaker teachings and practices, and remains an active member of the fellows community. Eligibility

• Apply to Earlham College by an applicable Early Action or Early Decision deadline
• Be accepted to and enroll at Earlham as part of the fall entering class
• Demonstrate interest in religious or spiritual thought and practice
• Show commitment to personal spiritual growth and a diverse spiritual community
• Be prepared to participate in approximately 50 hours of program activity each semester
• Complete a finalist interview during Scholarship Day if selected
• Maintain full-time enrollment and satisfy the continuing participation requirements for renewal
