Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship
Offered by Extra Special People, Inc.
About this scholarship
The Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship recognizes Georgia students whose lives and educational goals have been shaped by having a sibling with a developmental disability. Extra Special People, Inc., a Georgia nonprofit serving people with disabilities and their families, created the award in memory of Andrew “Drew” Swan and his care and advocacy for his sister Samantha. The scholarship provides $1,500 for one academic year and is nonrenewable. Funds are paid directly to the recipient’s school. Applicants must be permanent Georgia residents and siblings of individuals with developmental disabilities. They must be accepted to or enrolled in a nonprofit two-year or four-year higher-education institution, pursue an undergraduate degree, and attend at least part time. Selection is competitive and based on merit within the applicant pool. ESP may request additional documentation during review. The sponsor’s current scholarship page includes an Apply Here link to its official application document, but it does not publish a closing date in the public eligibility text. Applicants should open that direct document promptly, follow every current instruction in it, and confirm the submission deadline rather than relying on the directory’s projected June 2027 date.
