Drake University International Student Grant

About this scholarship

The Drake University International Student Grant is a renewable partial grant for international students with demonstrated financial need. Drake's international scholarships and financial aid page explains that the grant may help meet a portion of a student's family financial need, but it will not provide full funding. The page also states that, even when the grant is awarded together with other Drake scholarships, total combined aid will not exceed 40% of the total cost of attendance. Because Drake does not publish a fixed dollar amount for the grant, the amount value is left null rather than estimated. The award is partial funding and students must plan for the remaining cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. To apply for the grant, a student must first apply for admission to Drake; the grant application process is then provided within the Drake admission application. The grant may be combined with other merit, fine arts, athletic, or ability-based awards when the student qualifies. Students admitted to the Doctor of Pharmacy program should note that need-based assistance and merit aid apply only through the fourth year of the six-year Pharm.D. program.

Eligibility

• Apply as an international student to Drake University
• Complete the admission application before accessing the grant application process
• Demonstrate family financial need under Drake's international grant review
• Understand that the grant will not provide full funding
• Combined Drake aid will not exceed 40% of the total cost of attendance
• Meet Drake academic and English proficiency admission requirements
• Doctor of Pharmacy students can receive need-based assistance and merit aid only through the fourth year of the six-year Pharm.D. program
