Dr. Michael E. Miller Student Competition Scholarship
Offered by Association for Environmental Health and Sciences Foundation
About this scholarship
The Dr. Michael E. Miller Student Competition Scholarship recognizes the three strongest student poster presentations at the Association for Environmental Health and Sciences Foundation’s 2026 East Coast Conference. Current prizes are $1,000, $750, and $500. The competition is open to current full-time and part-time students, including students at multiple educational levels, but postdoctoral researchers are excluded. Past competition winners may not enter again in a later year. Students apply through the official conference abstract system: a first-time user creates a profile, submits an abstract, and selects the “student competition” option. The foundation sends an automatic confirmation followed by a personal response within five to seven days. Space can be limited, so early submission is encouraged even though abstracts remain eligible through September 14, 2026. Accepted competitors prepare and present a poster at the annual October conference. Judges from the conference scientific advisory board and sponsoring organizations score the work for topic selection and innovation, research and analysis methods, poster organization and structure, the quality of presentation materials, and communication of the poster’s content. The student-presenter registration fee is waived when the applicant selects the student fee category. Winners are recognized during the conference appreciation dinner, and award checks are mailed afterward.
