Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm Scholarship

Offered by Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association

About this scholarship

The Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm Scholarship reimburses up to $4,500 of expenses for veterinary acupuncture certification training. It serves two Nebraska-connected groups: veterinary students originally from Nebraska and Nebraska-licensed veterinarians who are members of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association. Approved costs are reimbursed after selection rather than advanced before training. For a program delivered in several sessions, the recipient submits proof of attendance and an expense report after each session, allowing support to continue through an eligible multi-year course. The NVMA board reviews applications at its January and September meetings, with materials due January 1 or September 1 for the corresponding review. The next actionable deadline is September 1, 2026. Applicants use the dedicated official online form, which the association says must be completed in one sitting, so they should gather program details and projected expenses before starting. This is a specialized professional-development award, distinct from the NVMA’s general veterinary-student scholarships and the Grotelueschen graduate award. Selection and the exact reimbursable amount depend on board approval and documented costs; receiving the scholarship does not eliminate the need to retain attendance records and receipts for each reimbursement request.
