Dr. James L. and Evelyn Ribbs Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship
Offered by Silicon Valley Community Foundation
About this scholarship
The Dr. James L. and Evelyn Ribbs Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship provides up to $2,000 to students with a meaningful connection to San Mateo or Santa Clara County, California who are entering or continuing medical school. An applicant must be either a college senior already accepted to medical school or a student enrolled full time at an accredited medical school. The geographic rule is based on high school: the applicant must have graduated from a high school in one of the two counties or permanently resided in one of them while attending high school. Silicon Valley Community Foundation also requires U.S. citizenship or eligible-noncitizen status. Selection looks beyond admission and grades to excellence of character, integrity, leadership, community involvement, and concern for others. The foundation’s official program page currently presents an Apply Now route, and the direct link opens SVCF’s CommunityForce scholarship account and application system. SVCF does not publish a closing date on the public scholarship page, so this record deliberately does not copy the directory’s projected February 2027 date. Applicants should create or sign in to the official portal promptly, confirm that the Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship is available in their matched opportunities, and follow the portal’s current deadline and document instructions.
