Dolphin Scholarship Foundation Scholarship
Offered by Dolphin Scholarship Foundation
About this scholarship
The Dolphin Scholarship Foundation supports eligible children, stepchildren, and spouses of qualified members or former members of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force and submarine-support community. The 2026–27 application opens October 1, 2026 and closes March 15, 2027. Annual Dolphin Scholarship grants range from $1,500 to $4,000 for full-time two-year or four-year undergraduate study or accredited trade and vocational certification. The foundation selects about 30–40 new scholars annually. Dependent children must be unmarried and under age 24 at the deadline; spouses may study full- or part-time under the sponsor’s credit-load rule. The qualifying service member generally needs six years of active-duty submarine service or eight years of active-duty submarine-support service. Applicants pursue their first associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or trade certification, and service-academy students are excluded. Selection emphasizes academic proficiency and sustained school and community involvement, with financial need considered after other aid is known. The application is not complete until every online step and an official transcript are received; mailed transcripts postmarked after March 15 are rejected. Separate administered scholarships cover certain submarines and service histories, but the common eligibility page explains those routes.
