Dennis Raveling Scholarship for Waterfowl Research
Offered by California Waterfowl Association
About this scholarship
The Dennis Raveling Scholarship for Waterfowl Research supports graduate students preparing for careers in waterfowl or wetlands ecology. California Waterfowl Association evaluates applicants on resolve, academic achievement, and the merit and management value of the proposed work. Candidates must be pursuing an advanced university degree in wildlife, zoology, botany, ecology, or another pertinent biological science. The award is intended to strengthen field experience and training in the tools, methods, and concepts used in waterfowl and wetland research and management. A complete application includes a one-page, single-spaced summary of an original research project, with a brief explanation of how the findings could be useful in conservation management. Applicants must also submit a CV or resume, a statement of interest explaining the course of study for which support is needed, a faculty sponsor’s letter confirming willingness to support the candidate, and names and phone numbers for two references. At least one reference should be a university instructor or previous employment supervisor. The official page instructs applicants to email the complete package to the listed California Waterfowl contact by December 15 and warns that a detailed proposal may be requested. The Apply button leads directly to those official instructions.
