David Arver Memorial Scholarship

Offered by Aircraft Electronics Association Educational Foundation

About this scholarship

The David Arver Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 Aircraft Electronics Association Educational Foundation award for students entering or continuing accredited training in avionics or aircraft maintenance. It was created by Dutch and Ginger Arver in memory of their son, David, and is part of AEA’s annual common scholarship program for future aviation technicians. Eligible applicants may be high school seniors or current college students who plan to attend or already attend an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft-maintenance program. Across the common technical-scholarship application, candidates need at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, or tools but not for flight training or air-traffic-control programs. AEA’s August 2026 announcement confirms that applications for the 2027–28 academic year will become available October 1, 2026 through its scholarship application page. The program’s official annual forms use an April 1 submission deadline, making April 1, 2027 the next deadline. Applicants should return once the new form is enabled and follow that cycle’s document prompts; recent common applications have required a completed form, a transcript, responses about career plans, and an essay. Students can apply for more than one qualifying AEA technical scholarship through the common process but may receive only one award in an academic year.
