Dare Greatly Foundation Scholarship

Offered by Dare Greatly Foundation

About this scholarship

The Dare Greatly Foundation Scholarship rewards Connecticut graduating seniors who combine academic persistence with compassion, integrity, leadership, and meaningful community service. The foundation awards ten $1,000 scholarships each year. Eligible students may plan to attend an accredited four-year college, community college, vocational school, technical school, or trade program, making this award broader than a traditional bachelor’s-only scholarship. Applicants must reside in Connecticut and hold a minimum 2.5 GPA. The next annual deadline is May 15, 2027. The online application asks students to document as many as three community-service organizations, including dates, hours, and contact information, and to provide an academic transcript. Candidates also prepare an essay of at least 500 words, a one- to three-minute personal video, and two recommendations. Recommenders may be teachers, mentors, or employers but cannot be family members. The foundation evaluates the whole submission for service, character, compassion, courage, and the applicant’s potential to contribute to the community rather than relying on grades alone. Recipients must provide proof of enrollment before their scholarship is paid. The current 2026 application is closed, and the official application page offers the route for 2027-cycle updates and submission.
