DAR Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship
Offered by Daughters of the American Revolution
About this scholarship
The DAR Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship awards $5,000 to four students who have financial need and have been accepted into or are attending an accredited occupational-therapy or physical-therapy pathway. DAR’s official description also includes accredited art-therapy and music-therapy study within the eligible therapy group. Applicants should provide the acceptance or enrollment evidence requested in the online form and make the exact accredited professional program clear. National DAR Scholarship Committee rules require U.S. citizenship and attendance or intended attendance at an accredited institution in the United States. Applications open November 1 and close January 31 annually; the next deadline is January 31, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time. This is one of five DAR national awards that require financial-need information. Candidates answer the form’s financial questions but should not add unrelated bank statements, tax returns, or other confidential documents. The common application also requires proof of citizenship, transcripts, a career-objectives statement, a concise activities and achievements record, and two to four typed recommendations written within the previous 12 months. Uploaded materials must not display an applicant photograph. The scholarship is restricted educational aid paid to the recipient’s institution rather than a cash payment made directly to the student.
