Daedalian Foundation Descendant Scholarship
Offered by Daedalian Foundation
About this scholarship
The Daedalian Foundation Descendant Scholarship supports direct descendants of qualifying members of the Order of Daedalians who plan careers in U.S. military aviation or in disciplines that directly support aeronautics or astronautics. The Foundation’s current scholarship page lists the award at $1,000 to $3,000 and provides a live national application, but it does not publish the third-party directory’s projected June 2027 deadline. Applicants should therefore use the available form promptly and confirm timing with the Foundation. A qualifying applicant must be the natural or adopted direct descendant of a Founder, Named, or Hereditary member in good standing, living or deceased, and must be a U.S. citizen. The student must be accepted by or attending an accredited college or university in a program leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree. The program’s military focus is central: candidates should intend to become commissioned military aviators or enter an aeronautics- or astronautics-supporting discipline as commissioned officers. The Foundation also evaluates scholastic standing, character, physical and mental qualification for commissioned service, and financial need. The scholarship cannot be combined with another Daedalian scholarship in the same year. Because one national form is used for several Daedalian awards, applicants should clearly document the member relationship and the descendant pathway when submitting.
