About this scholarship

Colorado Christian University School of Music Scholarships support talented undergraduate musicians and theatre performers studying on campus in Lakewood, Colorado. The program is open to students who plan to major or minor in music or theatre and to highly qualified non-majors who will participate in an eligible ensemble or theatre production. Applicants use the official Music and Theatre Audition Form to request a vocal, instrumental, piano, or theatre audition. CCU encourages an in-person or live Zoom audition, but a high-quality video may be accepted when those options are not possible. Scholarship candidates must also have a CCU admission application in progress because the university cannot offer a music award without an admissions file. Recipients enroll full time for at least 12 credits per semester, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and participate each award semester in an appropriate large ensemble plus any small ensemble for which they are selected. After the audition, the relevant coordinator makes a recommendation to the music faculty, which forwards approved recommendations to Student Financial Services. Award amounts vary and are disbursed by semester for the academic year immediately following the application. Students seeking renewal submit the School of Music renewal application each year before March 1. New applicants should complete the application and audition process by March 1 for priority consideration for the following fall semester.

Eligibility

• Have a Colorado Christian University undergraduate admission application in progress
• Plan to enroll full time for at least 12 credit hours per semester
• Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
• Demonstrate strong musical or theatre ability, talent, and potential
• Complete a vocal, instrumental, piano, or theatre audition with the School of Music
• Be accepted into a CCU music program, theatre program, or eligible music or theatre ensemble
• Participate each award semester in the required large ensemble and any assigned small ensemble
• Complete the application and audition process by March 1 for priority consideration
