Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation Scholarships

Offered by Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation

About this scholarship

The Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation administers 86 scholarships totaling $197,000 each year for students from Colonial Farm Credit’s service territory in central and eastern Virginia and southern Maryland. One application considers an eligible student for every matching endowed fund, and a student may receive one Foundation award in a given year. The largest current named awards are $6,500, while many funds award $2,000 or another amount based on their endowment. Some scholarships emphasize agriculture, forestry, environmental science, life sciences, 4-H, FFA, or rural leadership; others are tied to a particular county, high school, employer, association, career goal, or community-service record. Awards may support study at a college, university, vocational school, or trade school. The next application page opens November 1, 2026, and the Foundation states that applications are due March 1 every year. Applicants prepare high school and any college transcripts, detailed educational and personal background information, and at least two non-family reference letters. SAT or ACT scores are optional rather than required. Supporting documents may be emailed to the program coordinator for one week after the application deadline, but the main application itself must arrive on time.
