Cohen Leadership Scholarship
Offered by Saginaw Community Foundation
About this scholarship
The Cohen Leadership Scholarship is an annual Saginaw Community Foundation award for a Heritage High School graduating senior who lives in Saginaw Township and has a record of leadership. Dr. and Mrs. Andrew H. Cohen established the fund to recognize a student who understands leadership, demonstrates it among peers, family, school, and community, and is prepared to continue leading. The recipient must pursue an undergraduate degree full time and have at least a 3.0 GPA. The official fund page does not list a fixed award amount, so the record leaves the numeric value unknown rather than repeating an aggregator estimate. Students apply through the Foundation’s single GOapply application, which may also match them with other SCF scholarships. The next annual cycle opens November 1, 2026 and closes February 12, 2027 under the Foundation’s published second-Friday-in-February schedule. Leadership carries the largest share of the fund’s evaluation. Reviewers also score overall involvement in work, school, and community; awards and honors; extracurricular and school activities; career goals; and community service. The application requires an essay about future goals. An interview is used only if needed to break a tie, and the Foundation generally notifies scholarship recipients by mid-May.
