Clifford E. Davis Youth Leadership Scholarship

Offered by Saginaw Community Foundation

About this scholarship

The Clifford E. Davis Youth Leadership Scholarship recognizes a graduating senior from Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy who has demonstrated leadership and plans full-time undergraduate study. The fund honors Clifford E. Davis, a longtime Saginaw Public Schools administrator whose career included service at Saginaw High School, Webber Middle School, and the Ruben Daniels Lifelong Learning Center. Its purpose is to support the kind of emerging student leadership he fostered during his career. The official page does not state a fixed dollar amount, so the award is recorded as varying rather than using the directory’s unsupported estimate. Applicants use the Saginaw Community Foundation’s single online application, which can also identify other funds for which they qualify. The 2027 cycle opens November 1, 2026 and closes February 12, 2027 based on the Foundation’s annual second-Friday-in-February rule. Selection is primarily based on demonstrated leadership ability, which accounts for half of the fund’s evaluation. Reviewers also consider extracurricular and school activities, academic performance, and the applicant’s combined involvement in work, school, and the community. The minimum cumulative GPA is 2.5. The Foundation’s general process assigns each application to multiple community reviewers, averages their scores, and normally notifies recipients by mid-May.
