Clarendon Scholarship
Offered by University of Oxford (Clarendon Fund)
About this scholarship
The Clarendon Fund is the University of Oxford's flagship graduate scholarship scheme, offering over 200 fully funded scholarships each year to academically outstanding graduate students of any nationality. A Clarendon Scholarship covers Oxford course fees in full — for both Home and Overseas fee-status students — and provides an annual grant for living costs set at least at the UKRI minimum doctoral stipend rate, normally sufficient to cover a single student living in Oxford. A major advantage is that there is no separate application: every eligible graduate applicant is automatically considered for a Clarendon Scholarship simply by applying for their course by the relevant December or January funding deadline, with no extra forms or documents required. Awards are made primarily on academic merit and future potential. Most initial offers are sent by the end of April, and candidates who have not heard by mid-June can assume they were not selected. Because the deadline depends on the specific course, applicants should check their individual course page on the Oxford website for the exact date.
