Chapman University Distinguished Young Women Presidential Scholarship

Offered by Chapman University and America’s Distinguished Young Women

About this scholarship

Chapman University’s current college-granted offer for America’s Distinguished Young Women participants provides a $40,000 Presidential Scholarship each year for four years, a potential total of $160,000. It is available to a Distinguished Young Women state winner or a state-level Overall Scholastics winner who applies to, qualifies for, and enrolls at Chapman as a first-year student. The scholarship is renewable while the recipient remains enrolled full time and meets Chapman’s established academic renewal rules. It cannot be stacked with another Chapman scholarship, so recipients should compare the final institutional aid package rather than assume this amount will be added on top of every merit award. This opportunity is not a stand-alone national essay application. A student first enters the Distinguished Young Women program through the official participant application and advances through the applicable local or at-large and state selection process. Participants are evaluated in scholastics, interview, talent, fitness, and self-expression. Local and state calendars differ substantially, and some Class of 2027 programs have already closed while others remain open, so no single national deadline is invented. A prospective applicant should use the direct DYW registration form, contact the appropriate state or local program, and separately submit Chapman’s first-year admission application on time. The award applies only if the student earns the qualifying DYW distinction and is admitted to Chapman.
