Central Michigan University International Scholar Award
Offered by Central Michigan University
About this scholarship
The Central Michigan University International Scholar Award is an automatic merit scholarship for eligible international undergraduate students. CMU lists the award at $4,000 per year for four years for incoming freshmen and $4,000 per year for three years for transfer students. It is partial funding because it reduces the cost of study but does not pay the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, required health insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. Students are automatically considered for this scholarship when they apply for undergraduate admission to CMU, and the official page states that no separate application and no essay are required. CMU awards the highest international merit scholarship for which the student qualifies, so students who meet the higher International President's Award standard receive that award instead. The International Scholar Award is targeted to students with a GPA band below the top award but still strong enough to meet CMU's stated merit threshold. Sponsored students funded by their home country are excluded from CMU international merit awards.
