Canadian Nurses Foundation Scholarships

About this scholarship

The Canadian Nurses Foundation (CNF) is a national non-profit dedicated to advancing nursing education and research across Canada, and it offers more than 135 scholarships each year to nursing students at the baccalaureate, master's, and PhD levels, as well as to practical-nursing students. Awards are merit-based and range from CAD $750 to $10,000 depending on the level of study, and roughly one in five applicants across Canada receives an award. A single online application is matched against the Foundation's full catalogue of scholarships and their specific criteria, so applicants are considered for those they qualify for. Eligibility requires you to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who is enrolled in a nursing program in Canada, with program-specific progress requirements: baccalaureate applicants must have completed at least four courses (at least three in faculty courses, not counting courses in progress); master's applicants must have completed at least two courses and have at least two semesters remaining after applying; and practical-nursing applicants must have completed at least one semester with at least one remaining. The CNF application portal lets you start and save your application, and it lists the documents required before you submit.

Eligibility

• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
• Be enrolled in a nursing program in Canada
• Baccalaureate: have completed at least 4 courses (3+ in faculty courses)
• Master's: have completed 2+ courses with at least 2 semesters remaining
