California Middle Class Scholarship at UC Davis
Offered by California Student Aid Commission and University of California, Davis
About this scholarship
The California Middle Class Scholarship at UC Davis provides need-sensitive gift aid to eligible California undergraduate and teaching-credential students. There is no separate UC Davis scholarship application. Students are considered by filing either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or the California Dream Act Application by the annual state priority deadline; UC’s current fall 2027 calendar sets that deadline at March 2, 2027. Award amounts vary widely because the California Student Aid Commission calculates each offer from the student’s cost of attendance after subtracting other gift aid, a required self-help contribution, and—in applicable dependent-student cases—a parent contribution. Income and asset ceilings are updated annually, and the program remains contingent on California budget funding. At UC Davis, the award is sensitive to enrollment units: students enrolled full time receive 100 percent of the scheduled amount, three-quarter-time students receive 75 percent, half-time students receive 50 percent, and students below half time receive no payment. Eligible students receive notice through their financial-aid account after the state and university process the award. The directory’s fixed $23,098 figure was not used because UC Davis explicitly states that offers vary by student and available resources.
