Bucks CMS Donald E. Parlee, MD, Memorial Scholarship
Offered by Bucks County Medical Society and The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society
About this scholarship
The Bucks CMS Donald E. Parlee, MD, Memorial Scholarship provides one $1,970 award for the 2026-2027 academic year. Contributions from the Bucks County Medical Society and its physicians support the fund, which The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society administers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who reside in Bucks County when applying and who established Pennsylvania residency at least 12 months before registering as medical students. Time spent in the state only for earlier undergraduate or graduate study does not establish eligibility. The scholarship is open to full-time second- and third-year students at fully accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical schools; the school does not have to be in Pennsylvania. A recipient funded in the second year may apply for the third-year award. Candidates use this scholarship’s direct solicitation and submit a completed online form, two nonfamily reference letters, and a medical-school verification letter on official letterhead. The references should address integrity, interpersonal skills, and potential as a physician, and one letter must come from a medical-school professor or physician. The school letter confirms full-time enrollment and the applicant’s year. Applications opened July 1 and close September 30, 2026. The committee expects to notify applicants in November.
