Brighthouse Scholar Connections Scholarship Program
Offered by Brighthouse Scholar Connections, Inc.
About this scholarship
The Brighthouse Scholar Connections Scholarship Program awards $2,500 to $10,000 per student for the 2027-2028 academic year. Recipients may reapply annually and receive as much as $40,000 over four years. The nonprofit program supports students from historically underrepresented or disadvantaged populations at designated partner high schools and educational institutions, including colleges, universities, trade schools, and vocational schools. Current college and trade-school students at partner institutions may apply even if they did not attend a partner high school. Applicants must plan to enroll full time at an accredited institution in 2027-2028, demonstrate financial hardship, and document a GPA of at least 2.7. Examples of eligible underrepresentation include being first-generation, belonging to a group with historically lower college participation, attending an under-resourced high school, or having refugee status. The direct Qualtrics application requires a resume, unofficial transcript, nonfamily school-based recommendation, 200-word personal statement, and a writing sample responding to one of four prompts in no more than 300 words. High school seniors must also provide a college acceptance letter by April 16, 2027. Current Brighthouse Financial employees and their relatives are ineligible. The main application and supporting materials are due November 1, 2026.
