BPW Illinois Educational Foundation Incoming Freshman Scholarship
Offered by BPW Illinois Educational Foundation
About this scholarship
The BPW Illinois Educational Foundation Incoming Freshman Scholarship helps women from Illinois begin education beyond high school. It is open to a graduating high school senior or earlier graduate who has been accepted as a full-time incoming freshman for the fall semester at an accredited trade school, college, or university. Applicants must be female U.S. citizens, live in Illinois, and have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale after the fall semester. Financial need may receive preference but is not the only selection factor. The sponsor does not publish a fixed award amount, so applicants should not rely on the value shown by third-party scholarship directories. A complete application includes the official form, a cover letter requesting consideration, a typed 200- to 300-word essay describing educational plans, professional goals, and the reason for choosing the field, a transcript through the fall semester, and two signed professional, educational, or advisory recommendations. Personal references such as relatives and friends should be avoided. Materials must be sent together by email or postmarked by the recurring March 1 deadline. Winners must provide proof of graduation, full-time fall enrollment, and school payment instructions by July 15 before funds are paid directly to the institution.
