Baylor Ministry Scholarship

Offered by Baylor University Department of Religion

About this scholarship

The Baylor Ministry Scholarship covers 15% of tuition for Baylor undergraduate hours for qualified students preparing for church-related vocational ministry. Applicants must show evidence of a divine call, demonstrate commitment to Christian principles, participate actively in a Christian church, and pursue a Religion major or minor or another ministry-related degree such as Church Music or Church Recreation. The official live application asks the student to select the scholarship, identify an initial or renewal request, provide academic and church information, accept the program covenant, and upload a testimony of personal call. First-year applicants need certification from their home church; annual renewal uses a local school-year church and requires reaffirmation of the calling. Recipients also commit to take REL 2480, Introduction to Ministry, including its ministry-vocations assessment. Baylor warns that failure to complete the course satisfactorily can prevent graduation unless the scholarship is repaid. Eligibility is reviewed annually and renewal requires satisfactory academic progress plus continued ministry study and church commitment. Applications must be completed before the semester for which assistance is requested. FAFSA may unlock additional need-based ministry assistance, and the CSS Profile will no longer be required beginning in 2027–28.
