Baylor Baptist Youth Speakers Scholarship

Offered by Baylor University

About this scholarship

The Baylor Baptist Youth Speakers Scholarship rewards students who place first, second, or third at the state level of the Baptist Youth Speakers Tournament. The current annual award is $5,000 for first place, $3,500 for second place, or $2,500 for third place. A student can receive only one Youth Speakers scholarship even if they placed in the tournament more than once. The award is renewable for as many as eight undergraduate semesters, provided the recipient remains enrolled full time at Baylor and maintains at least a 2.5 cumulative Baylor GPA. Applicants must document their participation and state-level placement and submit the evidence through Baylor Student Financial Services’ official Contact Us form; that submission route is linked directly rather than sending users to a general homepage. Prospective recipients must also apply and be admitted to Baylor. The university does not publish one fixed scholarship deadline or annual recipient count on its current Baptist scholarships page, so students should submit placement confirmation before the academic period for which support is requested. This is a competition-based Baylor scholarship and should not be confused with the Presidential Denominational award, which recognizes specific Challengers, Studiact, and WMU achievements.
