Baylor Baptist Church Matching Scholarship
Offered by Baylor University
About this scholarship
Baylor University’s Baptist Church Matching Scholarship doubles qualifying outside support from a student’s Baptist church, state Baptist convention, or approved Baptist-affiliated program, up to $1,000 in Baylor matching funds per academic year. Summer support is excluded. The award is useful for students whose local congregation already invests in their education: Baylor adds an institutional match after receiving the church scholarship check and the completed certification form. The university reserves the right to decide which conventions and affiliated programs qualify. Continued matching is available while the church keeps providing support, the student remains enrolled full time, and the student maintains at least a 2.5 cumulative Baylor GPA. Students also report the church portion through Baylor’s Outside Scholarship Report Form using a BearID. The Apply button here opens the official Baptist Church Matching certification form rather than a general university homepage. Applicants should coordinate early with their church and Baylor Student Financial Services because the sponsor does not publish one universal deadline; timing depends on receipt of the outside funds and documentation for the relevant academic year. Admission to Baylor is handled separately through the university application.
