BAEF Initial Two-Year Master’s Degree Fellowship

Offered by Belgian American Educational Foundation

About this scholarship

The Belgian American Educational Foundation’s Initial Two-Year Master’s Degree Fellowship funds Belgian bachelor’s graduates entering an initial two-year master’s program at a leading U.S. university in 2027–2029. The first year provides up to $72,000: a $22,000 stipend for living and travel costs plus as much as $50,000 for tuition and health insurance. A second-year award of up to $50,000 for tuition and health insurance is available when the fellow earns an outstanding first-year GPA. Candidates normally apply during the final year of bachelor’s study or shortly after graduation and must pursue a genuine two-year master’s program rather than a shorter complementary degree. Selection emphasizes an exceptional transcript, a coherent U.S. study plan, strong recommendations, and academic preparation for competitive admission. Applicants first complete BAEF’s online eligibility form; eligible candidates receive access to the full application platform. The file includes an autobiographical essay, study statement, intended university list, transcripts, test results, and references. Applicants must separately seek admission to U.S. universities. The BAEF application is due October 31, 2026, while required recommendations and English-test results are due November 15. Fellows must remain in the United States for two full academic years.
