Avfuel Pilot-in-Training Scholarship

About this scholarship

The 2026 Avfuel Pilot-in-Training Scholarship awards three aspiring pilots $1,500, $1,000, and $500 for aviation education. Funds may support flight training, tuition, or a new pilot license and are paid by a joint check to the recipient and the educational institution. Applicants must already be engaged in pilot training or preparing to begin, show a genuine interest in aviation education and earning a pilot license, and complete every required part of Avfuel's direct application. The form collects contact details, an expected certificate-completion date and current or planned flight school when applicable, work history, and an optional résumé. It also requires two answers of no more than 1,000 characters apiece about aviation goals, use of the scholarship, and the applicant's potential contribution to the industry or community. Avfuel evaluates candidates from their application responses and may invite semifinalists to an interview with company and aviation-industry representatives. Employees of Avfuel or Avflight and their relatives are not eligible. A recipient must give Avfuel a detailed description of the planned educational use and redeem the 2026 award by September 1, 2027. The application cannot be saved midway and must be submitted in one session by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on October 31, 2026.

Eligibility

• Be engaged in pilot training or preparing to begin pilot training
• Demonstrate interest in aviation education and earning a pilot license
• Provide current or expected flight-school and certificate information when applicable
• Complete the required work-history fields, using Not Applicable where the form permits
• Answer both application essays within the stated 1,000-character limit for each response
• Explain the intended educational use of the scholarship funds
• Not be an Avfuel or Avflight employee or a relative of an employee
• Submit the complete application in one session by October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time
