AUC Nancy Elizabeth Prophet and Hale Woodruff Art History Scholarship
Offered by AUC Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective
About this scholarship
The Nancy Elizabeth Prophet and Hale Woodruff Art History Scholarship is the AUC Collective’s most competitive award, covering full tuition and fees for one outstanding Art History major for as many as three years. Applicants must be current first-year students who will be sophomores in the award year, have officially declared Art History, hold at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, and remain in good academic and conduct standing. The live application collects an unofficial transcript, a 250–500 word narrative about career goals or research interests, a faculty or internship-supervisor recommendation, and interview availability. Candidates must also have earned at least a B in an approved foundational art-history or curatorial course. Selected Prophet-Woodruff Scholars attend or lead six events per year across social justice, community service, technology and innovation, museums and visual art, leadership, and career development. Renewal requires annual reapplication, continuous 15-credit fall and spring enrollment, a 3.5 cumulative and Art History GPA, good standing, completion of prerequisites, and the six-event commitment. Students abroad or on domestic exchange may remain eligible when all conditions are met. International students and those ineligible for federal funding cannot receive the award. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with May 15 strongly encouraged.
