Auburn University Nonresident Competitive Merit Scholarships
Offered by Auburn University
About this scholarship
Auburn University automatically considers eligible nonresident first-year applicants for competitive merit scholarships through the undergraduate admission process. No separate scholarship application is required for this merit category. Auburn’s official current guidance lists an estimated nonresident range of $7,000 to $17,000 per year, based on the previous entering class and subject to change. At that maximum annual level, a renewable award could total $68,000 across four years, but Auburn stresses that each class competes with itself and no score or credential guarantees an award. The Fall 2026 reference chart associated the Academic Presidential Scholarship with a 3.5 high school GPA and ACT scores of 33–36, the Academic Heritage Scholarship with a 3.5 GPA and ACT 31–32, and the Academic Charter Scholarship with a 3.5 GPA and ACT 29–30; equivalent SAT scores are accepted. Students seeking Fall 2027 consideration must submit a complete early-action file—including the application, fee, high school transcript, and official test scores—by December 1, 2026. Updated official scores must arrive by January 11, 2027 for reconsideration. Recipients must enroll in the summer or fall immediately after high-school graduation. Renewal requires at least a 3.0 cumulative unadjusted Auburn GPA and 24 Auburn credit hours during each academic year, for no more than eight semesters.
