Ashbrook Scholar Program Scholarship
Offered by Ashbrook Center at Ashland University
About this scholarship
The Ashbrook Scholar Program Scholarship provides $2,000 per year to selected undergraduates in Ashland University’s rigorous politics-and-history program. The award is renewable annually based on merit, and the university catalog requires Scholars to maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative Ashland GPA. This is both a scholarship and a structured academic experience: students study major works and original documents in political thought and American history, take a dedicated course sequence, participate in small discussions with faculty and visiting public figures, and receive support pursuing internships in government, public policy, museums, archives, journalism, and related fields. Applicants should be serious, public-spirited students interested in civic leadership and must study political science, history, political economy, or another program-approved related field at Ashland University. The current Ashland page also identifies pre-law, international political studies, and social studies as relevant interests. Students must complete the Ashbrook Scholar application in addition to securing admission to Ashland; the program’s official Apply link leads directly to its application endpoint. Neither Ashland nor the Ashbrook Center currently publishes a fixed scholarship deadline, so students should not rely on a third-party “varies” listing: they should begin the university admission and separate Scholar selection process early and confirm timing with the program.
