Alliance Medical Education Scholarship
Offered by The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society
About this scholarship
The Alliance Medical Education Scholarship Fund awards multiple $2,500 scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Pennsylvania Medical Society Alliance created the fund in 2000, and The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society now administers its continuing support for medical education. Eligible applicants are U.S. citizens who were Pennsylvania residents for at least 12 months before registering as medical students, excluding a period spent in the state solely for undergraduate or graduate education. Students must attend an accredited Pennsylvania medical school full time and be in their second or third year. Applications are submitted through the award-specific online solicitation rather than through a directory or general inquiry page. Required materials include the completed form, two letters from nonfamily references documenting the candidate’s integrity, interpersonal skills, and potential as a future physician, and a medical-school letter on official letterhead. That school letter must verify full-time enrollment and the applicant’s second- or third-year standing. The official directions do not list an essay for this scholarship. Applications open July 1 and must be complete by September 30, 2026; late or partial submissions do not meet the published requirements. The Foundation expects to notify applicants of the committee’s decision in November.
